Every time I travel overseas, I make sure to stop by a COS store. I WILL go out of my may to get to one. And then, I’ll try on most of the store, and spend too much, but come home feeling accomplished.
My heart really flutters when I try the pieces on. They drape perfectly and are usually timeless, but still quite edgy.
Dubai was no exception. And I was in luck, since apparently they just opened the first COS store a few months before I got there! My latest additions:
There was another textured top that I can’t find a picture of… Apparently they are opening a store in the US soon, but until then, I’ll have to wait for more vacations!
When my sister sees this post, I know I’m getting a call from her making sure she gets to “borrow” these!

According to this article from Scientific American, the babe below is killing dolphins. And causing birth defects…in humans. I knew her poop had a dark side…
She’s definitely not happy to hear the news.
On a more hopeful note, my dear friend Sarah and I shared some pie. No shame in being an LA newbie. : ) I nabbed the last banana cream pie, (I’ll say no more). Mac and cheese (I’ll say no more).
We snagged a few photos on the runway. Where we had our paparazzi darlings–awkward Asian dude and creepy-old-man-presumably-artist-based-on-paint-on-his-fingers-or-blood-who-knows—take our shots.
Happy Sunday from my awkward hand to yours. : )
I can hardly wait! Hana and I are always suckers for cute makeup (hence our unhealthy growing collection of “fun” paul & joe makeup -___- ), so with this new collection coming out in June, you bet we’ll be in line.

A few months ago, when I visited the west coast, the Joe family went on an adventure to look for a home for Hana in the Silverlake area. Although we were unsuccessful in finding anything decently affordable for Hana, we made our way down to Clare Vivier’s boutique and we fell in LOVE with Grace Lee’s jewelry line (our mom was especially excited). It’s fairly difficult to find delicate, chic gold jewelry (not the plated stuff) in classic, unique designs. Grace Lee jewelry line just perfectly fit our aesthetic. Here are some standouts we’re hoping to save up for:
Mother’s Day’s coming up, and I’m sure my mom’s going to start hinting…..

I’ve been thinking of beach vacations and have become obsessed with how great Turkish bath towels would look in the sand. I’ll be stopping by my local flea market to see if there are any decently priced ones today (then off to studying for finals)!
Clare Vivier Pebble Royal Blue Foldover Clutch
After thinking about getting a clutch, I’ve finally decided to hit the “go” button! Helps that it’s on sale at Saks!

Today was Goodie Day at my work. Normally, we don’t even get to drink coffee at our desks, but today, every single person at our company showcased their splendid cooking skills…like a buffet on, you guessed it, steroids. (excuse my inability to be quirky with my cliches…is that even possible.)
We didn’t have a large selection of breakfast goods so people were digging into pulled pork, enchiladas, pork ribs, bacon mac & cheese (that was mine) at around 9am, and cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, creme brulee by 11am so around actual lunch time, people crashed. Twas a really great day; I love my work for giving us one day a year to go nuts, like beagles given unlimited amounts of food.
Now, on a more serious note, I went to the Garnet neighborhood to drop off toys that my church had donated for the Solidarity Christmas store. It was startlingly to see gang members hanging outside the Solidarity house with young students inside trying to make it through school without distractions. I was a bit terrified to get out of my car. The toys we had collected seemed so abundant at home, but once we placed them in the office, they looked pathetic, as if we had only made a tiny dent towards better-ness on this poverty-ridden street. I’m really looking forward to working with them in the coming months.
On my way home, I came across this little street that my parent’s senior friends told them about, richly decorated with suspending balls of light. It’s near Raymond and Chapman. I had a very Heideggerian experience here, especially after stopping by the Garnet house. You’ll see what I mean. The photo does not lie; it also does no justice.
